Grand Traverse 4 Uganda is a partnership of churches, businesses, and individuals to ensure rural Wakiso, Uganda has access to clean water, adequate food, community health, Bible studies, and economic self-reliance. 

Through projects, programs, and building relationships, Grand Traverse 4 Uganda exists to serve the people of the Wakiso District. It is our mission to improve their quality of life, while pointing them to salvation in Jesus. ​​

Meet the Ssimbwas

Godfrey Ssimbwa moved to Traverse City from Uganda in the early 2000s with his dad, and he worked and volunteered here for fifteen years before feeling a call to return to Wakiso, Uganda in 2019. He has been serving there since!

In January of 2023, Godfrey completed his Pastor's Training Course in Biblical Studies. In 2024, Godfrey married his wife, Eunice, a pharmacist, and in 2025 they welcomed their son, Abraham, into their family.

He serves people in the Wakiso District full time.

Our Board

The Oversight Board of Grand Traverse 4 Uganda includes members from New Hope Church (Williamsburg), The Orchard Church (Kingsley), Advent Lutheran Church (Lake Ann), and Bethlehem Lutheran Church (Traverse City). ​This board exists to provide guidance and accountability for Grand Traverse 4 Uganda and its projects.
